The recommended alternative touch controller is ATMXT1664T3 for new designs without Active Stylus. The mXT1666T2 features the revolutionary Adaptive Sensing Architecture of the maXTouch T-series. It senses with both mutual- and self-capacitance and provides intelligent support for integrated Active Stylus and finger hover to distances up to 20mm (2cm). It is the premier touch controller solution for Android and Windows 8.x certified screen sizes up to 12.5 inches. Support: off the shelf maXTouch standard modules are available to help shorten development time and reduce risk. Microchip also has a strong selection of factory trained global touch sensor module partners to help support custom touch sensor and/or touchscreen display designs.
