The recommended
alternative touch controller is ATMXT336U.
The Microchip maXTouch mXT224E mutual capacitance touchscreen controller is suitable for use on a wide range of devices ranging from smartphones to tablets of up to 7" in diagonal. The highly responsive IC can interpret up to ten touches on the touchscreen whilst consuming a fraction of the current of the other solutions on the market. With advanced touch processing, the device can ignore unintentional touches caused by a gripping hand or resting palm, while correctly interpreting light touches. For high precision operation, the device also includes algorithms to identify and track a narrow stylus input.
Support: off the shelf maXTouch standard modules are available
to help shorten development time and reduce risk. Microchip also has a strong
selection of factory trained global touch sensor module partners to help
support custom touch sensor and/or touchscreen display designs.
