Are chip capacitors divided into positive and negative poles?

Chip capacitors have positive and negative poles. It is a commonly used capacitor. It is formed by two metal sheets as electrodes and a substance as a medium. These two metal sheets are positive and negative. The two ends are respectively connected to the corresponding circuit, and they form a circuit together with other components.

In chip capacitors, the positive terminal is usually the metal piece marked "+" and the negative terminal is usually the metal piece marked "-". When the capacitor is exposed to voltage, the positive terminal will have a positive charge and the negative terminal will has a negative charge.

Therefore, when using chip capacitors, you should pay attention to the wiring direction to ensure the correct operation of the capacitor. If the positive and negative electrodes are reversed, the capacitor will not work properly, and may even be damaged.

It should be noted that different types of chip capacitors, such as aluminum electrolytic capacitors, ceramic capacitors, electrolytic capacitors, AC load capacitors, etc., have different wiring methods for the positive and negative electrodes. Determine the wiring direction of the positive and negative poles.

Second, the method of distinguishing the positive and negative poles of chip capacitors

The black block marked by the chip capacitor is the negative pole. Of course, how to classify it is also directly related to the manufacturer of the chip capacitor. In general, the identification methods of the chip capacitor are as follows:

1. According to the instruction manual of chip capacitors

Under normal circumstances, the instruction manual of the manufacturer of chip capacitors says the positive and negative poles of the chip capacitor, and these are marked. As long as the user reads the chip carefully, the manufacturer's instruction manual will be able to know

The positive and negative poles of chip capacitors are still easy to identify. The positive and negative poles of their chip capacitors have special marks. Generally, like ordinary chip capacitors, the black block of the mark is the negative pole. It can be distinguished according to the instruction manual.

2. Directly ask the manufacturer of chip capacitors

If the user does not know the positive and negative poles of the chip capacitor, he can also directly ask the manufacturer of the chip capacitor, and the answer given by the manufacturer must be accurate.

3. Multimeter measurement

When we don't know the positive and negative poles of the capacitor, we can use a multimeter to measure it. The medium between the two poles of the capacitor is not an absolute insulator, and its resistance is not infinite, but a limited value, generally above 1000 megohms .

The electric anode between the two poles of the capacitor is called insulating electric anode or leakage resistance. Only when the positive electrode of the electrolytic capacitor is connected to the black test lead when the positive electricity of the power supply is blocked, and the negative terminal is connected to the red test lead when the negative electricity of the power supply is blocked, the leakage current of the electrolytic capacitor is small. The resistance is large, on the contrary, the leakage current of the electrolytic capacitor increases and the leakage resistance decreases.
